Welcome to my lifestyle blog – The Lifestyle Blogger UK.
I created this blog The Lifestyle Blogger UK back in the summer of 2015 as a creative outlet. To share my everyday life and loves but also as a way to practise my writing skills. Little did I know that within just 2 months of starting this blog, I would have hundreds of people reading my articles and would start getting paid to review products!
A year after that I was earning enough to be able to pursue blogging as a full time career. So, I took the plunge, quit my job and started to work for myself. This blog has grown tremendously in the past few years, and I have gained so much from it. If you’re thinking of starting a blog, I say go for it, if it’s really what you want to do and you have the passion for it.
A Little Background
I’ve lived in Gloucestershire all my life (except for a 3 month stint at Uni – which I hated) in a quiet little town in The Cotswolds. I have two brothers – one older and one younger. Both are VERY much in to technology. One designs computers and the other lives in Australia and does all the 3D stuff in films. Both of my parents are now retired and love to travel. So much so they bought themselves a camper van. I rarely know where they are in the country/world until I get a postcard!
I moved in with my longterm boyfriend back in 2009 and got married in April 2013. We now only live around 10 minutes from my childhood home. The area is so full of beautiful places to see that we didn’t need to consider moving anywhere else. Plus, all of our friends and most of our family are here too.
I now work for myself from home and my husband works for a kitchen company, designing kitchens which he loves. We don’t have any pets ‘yet’ but one day we hope to have a puppy. I would love a bit of company as working from home can get super lonely at times.
The Here & Now
This blog, The Lifestyle Blogger UK, is where I share a lot of my favourite things…
You’ll find delicious home made recipes. LOTS of tips on how to get and stay healthy. The occasional product review and places to visit (including lots in and around my home town in Gloucestershire). I do tend to write a lot about health and fitness as it’s such a passion of mine, and has been all my life!
Health & Fitness
When I was 10 I was crowned National Swimming Champion and would swim in galas most evening and weekends. My poor parents would be dragged all over the country EVERY weekend! Then when I was 17 I managed to get in to the British National Sailing Team which was, I admit, the proudest moment of my life. Even now 20 years later, I still remember getting the call to tell me I was in and then screaming my head off and jumping around the house for hours!
I’d like to think I have a bit of a green thumb too. I love to potter about the garden and even have a small veggie patch. We grow – potatoes, peas, courgettes, carrots, parsnips…etc. I get that from my Gran. I would go and visit her for weeks at a time and spend time with her in the garden. She’s 92 now so we don’t do so much pottering but she still loves to show me her garden. She lives right next to a canal as well so she tends to get a lot of weird and wonderful birds in her garden.
There’s Lots More…
This is a lifestyle blog featuring all of my favourite things to do. One of which is to bake deliciously healthy treats. Probably my all time favourite thing to make are these amazing (if I do say so myself), healthy homemade banana muffins. They are so easy make and are a great alternative for breakfast. Especially with a hot cup of tea/coffee or hot chocolate.
Travel
I also really love to travel and have been fortunate enough to go to some amazing places over the years. We went to San Francisco, Las Vegas and Yosemite on our honeymoon almost 7 years ago which was the trip of a lifetime! Although we’ve been to many places over the years, this was the trip of all trips and took quite a bit of planning as we didn’t want to miss a thing. In Vegas we wanted to see the Grand Canyon, obviously the Golden Gate Bridge in SanFrancisco and well, pretty much everything in Yosemite!
We even went back to San Francisco and took a slightly longer trip over to Yosemite for our 5 year wedding anniversary. There’s so much to see and do there that even after two jam packed visits, we still have so much left to explore there. I’m sure we’ll be going back there again one day.
What’s Next For The Lifestyle Blogger UK?
Well, who knows to be completely honest! I love that starting this blog has opened doors to me and allowed me to live a life I only ever dreamed of. I am my own boss, I work when and where I want to. In my garden, on a beach in a bikini, in my pj’s watching tv, on a treadmill!
I also have a second blog. A fitness blog – Fitness Focus where i go in to more detail on all things fitness. I’d love you to join me over there as well.
I love that I have no idea what I’ll be doing next. However, I know I will love every minute of it and hope you’ll join me on my journey.
