This vegan baguette recipe is so simple and quick to make. Such a basic recipe that produces a deliciously crispy baguette loaf. You could even split the recipe to create two smaller baguette loaves.
Add the warm water and yeast into a bowl and mix gently
Then add in the bread flour and salt and mix in to a dough
Knead gently until the flour is completely incorporated
After you have folded the dough, leave it in the bowl with a tea towel over the top to rest for 45 minutes to 1 hour
Preheat oven to 230 degrees C.
Once the hour is up, turn your dough out of the bowl, knock the air out and roll in to a sausage shape on some baking paper. Do this on the baking tray (or sheet pan) that will be going into the oven so you don't have to move it again later. Make sure the dough is seam side down for a better finish.
Half fill a small oven-proof bowl with water and place in the oven. Leave this in the oven as your loaf bakes.
Then place your loaf into the oven and bake for 25 minutes (or less if you are doing half loaves). Once baked, it's best to leave it for 15 minutes to allow it to settle. However, you can let it rest for 30 minutes - or longer if you don't want it to be quite so warm inside.
