However, that doesn’t mean your bathroom has to look drab, cluttered and dark. In fact, there are plenty of ways you can improve a small bathroom and make it look just as stylish as your other rooms. You just have to get creative with the space, and no you don’t have to be a professional interior designer. Here are some small bathroom ideas.
Add A Corner Sink
More often than not, most homeowners place their sinks right in the middle of a wall, which can often get in the way and take up valuable space. However, if you put it in the corner instead, that won’t happen as it’ll be out of the way, making the most of that un-used space in the corner. Even though corner sinks do have smaller edges, so less space to put your soap, toothbrush…etc, this won’t be a problem either as you could use a floating, self-adhesive soap dish instead that you stick to the wall above the sink, creating extra toothbrush space for you.
Be Clever With Heating Options
Another fitting that can often get in the way in small bathrooms is the radiator. So, you need to be smart when it comes to fitting some new heating fixtures into your bathroom’s decor. Column radiators are often very narrow and will easily fit into most sized bathrooms. But if you’re struggling to squeeze in one of these radiators, you might be better off getting underfloor heating.
Use Solid Colours
When you are thinking of colours and shades for your bathroom decor, it’s a good idea to stay away from patterns in the interior design. That’s because they can often look very busy and this will make the room feel quite small. You will find the solid, neutral colours can really lighten up the bathroom and create an illusion of space. If you want to be creative with your decor, you can always play around with different textures. That’s a lot safer than playing with colours in small spaces.
Be Creative With Storage
Small bathrooms generally won’t have that much storage space, which is one, you just have to get creative with the room you do have and think outside the box. You will probably already have a mirror in your bathroom. How about making it bigger, though? This will also create the illusion of space, and will also help to lighten up your bathroom even further.
