With a great approach to business, an amazing work ethic and a solid team of hardworking employees, a business can achieve its goals month on month. This team spirit and determination is also what charities need to raise the much-needed funds for a worthy cause. So, perhaps it’s time for your business to consider getting involved and partnering up with a charity of your choice. Do your bit to help others. How do you decide which charity to work with is totally up to you. However, try to do some charity work that reflects you and your business. Make it personal.
Do Your Research
There are over 169,000 charities in operation in England and Wales alone, with each of them fighting for support for worthy causes.
Finding a charity that aligns with your business’s values can be a lot easier if you take the time to do enough research.
Consider where you want to direct your help and look for an organisation that really makes a difference.
Build Good Relationships
Once aligning with a charity, communication will be paramount to keeping that relationship healthy. Understanding what they stand for and respecting that will go a long way to ensuring that that happens.
This will allow you to find more ways to be an ongoing help rather than making a one-off donation. You might be able to play a leading role in some of their large-scale initiatives which could help build trust between you and the public.
Get Your Whole Team Involved
Hopefully what your business stands for will be reflected in your team, so they should support the charity chosen by the company.
Creating fun ways for your employees to donate to the charity is also something you can do. Giving prizes or possibly even cash bonuses for contests and games will encourage your employees to do their part for the charity.
Advertise fun team days, games, office raffles, etc. Put up posters and send out emails to alert your employees so they know when these events will be taking place. This will ensure that all those who want to be involved won’t miss an opportunity to contribute.
Additionally, you could allow your team members to take a day off to volunteer with the organisation you’ve chosen to support.
This Isn’t A Marketing Campaign
Don’t focus on how being charitable could benefit your business, instead take it simply as a chance to give back.
If your business is thriving, this means that you’ve received plenty of support from your customers. If possible, it’s important to reciprocate that when you have the chance so you can develop strong relationships.
You should not be looking to increase your bottom line when working alongside a charity. You should be looking to help those in need, as well as spreading some joy. How would you get involved in charity work?
