One of the main factors that Google considers while assessing the quality and authority of your website is the amount of follow links it receives from quality websites with a high authority score. Obviously there are many other factors as well but this is known to be one of the main ones.

How to find out if a link is a follow or no follow…
Chrome
This is one of the more difficult ways to check if a link is follow or no follow. Follow the below and you should be OK…
Right click on the link you want to analyse. Select ‘Inspect Element’ (A Window appears with a link highlighted). Then check if the rel=’nofollow’ attribute is in the code. If it is in the code, the link is a nofollow link, otherwise consider the link a follow link.
Firefox
Really simple to install, simply add the Nofollow extension to your browser.
Once installed, all you have to do to check if a link is follow link or not is to go to that website and check to see if there is a red mark across that link. If there is red mark, it’s nofollow link, however if there isn’t a red mark, it’s a follow link.
Moz Bar
This is the one I use on a daily basis and is so easy to use. All you have to do is install the Moz Bar SEO tool to your browser and it will automatically tell you the DA and PA score of every website you look at but if you click the little pencil icon in the top left hand corner, it will also tell you all the follow and no follow links on that website. If its green, its a follow link, if it’s purple then it’s a no follow link. It will also tell you which links are internal and external so it’s really useful.
