Globally, the cosmetics industry is estimated to have a compound annual growth rate of 7%, indicating that the attention people are giving to how they look is steadily increasing. However, as you age, the fat beneath the skin reduces, which may affect your physical beauty. When your skin’s surface loses its smoothness, its natural glow may disappear. Fortunately, by practising these few tips, you can maintain or preserve your natural beauty.
Exfoliate your skin
Exfoliation is the act of scrubbing off dead skin layers from the surface of your skin. To restore your skin’s natural beauty, use a gentle scrub to exfoliate your skin at regular intervals. You can even make your own scrub by using sugar and honey. Just ensure that the sugar granules have a fine texture. If you’re not too sure about physical exfoliation, you can opt for the chemical method which doesn’t require too much manipulation. When you exfoliate, it not only clears away the dead skin cells, but also opens skin pores and helps treat acne. In addition to your face, you may also want to exfoliate your lips too.
Use lemon juice to give your skin a glow
These days it’s easier to regain your glowing beauty with lemon juice. All you have to do is add rose water and glycerin to the citrus liquid, then apply this mixture to your skin about 20 minutes before taking your shower. Lemon juice contains healthy amounts of vitamin C and citric acid; these help brighten your skin. Since Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant, it keeps you younger by fighting ageing through neutralising free radicals and boosting the production of collagen. Another simple hack to regain your glowing skin beauty is to wear a honey and milk face mask. You can wear it for just 20 minutes before washing it off.
Fight wrinkles around your face/eyes
When wrinkles form, they can impact your physical appearance and make you look older than your actual age. Therefore, trying to hide or get rid of wrinkles could help you look radiant. You could do this with raw milk. Gently heat three tablespoons of the liquid and apply it to the wrinkles around your eyes and face. Leave it on for around 20-30 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. When you repeat this procedure at least three times a week, your wrinkles will gradually fade. It is noteworthy that wrinkles are a natural part of ageing and so you might not be able to get rid of them entirely at a certain age. However, facelift procedures can help you maintain a vibrant look and a glow that will last for years.
Wear mineral-based sunscreens
Ultraviolet rays from the sun are potentially carcinogenic. Aside from that, UV rays also distort your skin colour and texture, thereby making it look older than usual. You can counter this by using mineral-based sunscreens with active ingredients such as zinc oxide, and SPF 30+ ratings. Mineral sunscreens act as physical barriers to protect your skin from harmful UV light.
