When you’re trying to create a home that you absolutely adore, you can often find yourself scouring the internet looking for inspiration. You’ll rip pages out of magazines and ask your friends for tips on where to look for the best pieces. And after awhile, it can start to get hard. Because when you want to transform your home, but don’t want to spend the earth, trying to make the two work can be tough!
So if you want to transform your home with just a few changes, here are some of the luxury touches that can go a long way…
Textured Wallpaper
First of all, if you really want to make an impact on the rooms in your house, you’re going to want to do something that will create the maximum impact and you’re often going to find that working with the walls is going to do this.
But don’t just repaint, because this won’t really do what you want it to. Instead, think about the kinds of wallpaper, particularly textured designs, that you can use to bring the room alive instead.
Lighting
You’d probably be quite surprised at how much lighting can change the look and feel of a room. The best option is to always have as much natural light as possible. However, this isn’t always possible.
Candles, for instance will make the space feel warm, cozy and quite romantic; great for a cozy night in. However, if you are looking to make a room feel bigger, more spacious and lighter, then perhaps a floor uplighter would be a better option. The uplight effect creates a sense of space by lighting up your ceiling. It is also less of a harsh light than say a spot light would be. Table lamps are also great for lighting up a room without being too overpowering, and there is also the option to use energy efficient bulbs which are generally not quite so bright to create the effect you’re looking for.
Home Fragrance
There are always going to be rooms that you really want to make the most impact in – namely your kitchen and bathroom. However, once you’ve got your suites in and finished, you don’t always want to over-clutter the place. Because you know that less is more.
But when you still want to create some atmosphere, you should definitely think about working with home fragrances. From room sprays and diffusers to candles and incense sticks, you can really bring a room alive with a simple fragrance.
Flooring
To really transform the feel of your home, perhaps look in to changing your floors. If you have carpet in many of your rooms, perhaps you could make one room really stand out by using lvt flooring. LVT – luxury vinyl tile flooring is practical, durable, easy to clean and looks amazing! Plus, being a tile floor, you could use it in a bathroom or kitchen and not worry about water damage as much as with wood.
Accessories
Transforming your room into a luxurious place to relax in, you don’t always have to think big, it can be the smaller touches that really make a room. For example, a beautiful piece of art as the focal point of a room or perhaps a stunning piece of furniture. A luxurious place to sit and relax and cozy up with a book and a hot chocolate.
A Walk-In Wardrobe
When you want to fall head over heels with your home, you know that you’re going to want to up your bedroom storage game. And every girl dreams of owning a walk-in wardrobe. So why not flip that small spare room you have and create the walk-in wardrobe of your dreams?
Elegant Landscaping
Finally, don’t forget to look outside. Because you can often make a huge difference to the way that your home looks and feels just by focusing on your landscaping. When you change the basic sheet of grass into an elegant garden, you’re going to really be able to enjoy the summer (or what we have of it) and create a luxury finish for the outside too.
