A very quick and simple article on how you can make your own homemade natural anti-aging facial serum for all skin types, full of organic ingredients.
This facial serum is ideal for those wanting to stay looking youthful, but in a natural way, without the use of any chemicals or surgical procedures. I have been using this natural facial serum for a few years now and often get asked what i use on my skin. I was even asked a couple of times if i use botox! That’s a definite no from me – i hate needles (and harsh chemicals)!
It’s one of the many skincare products you can make yourself without the use of harmful ingredients or synthetic fragrance. Instead, only using safe ingredients that you can make in large or small batches for any specific skin concerns you might have.
Who Is This Organic Serum For?
Natural face serums are for anyone and everyone really – perhaps not babies though! If you want to slow the signs of aging, natural serums like this should be part of your skincare routine.
This clean beauty serum can be used by people with…
- Oily skin
- Dark spots
- Combination skin
- Sensitive skin
- Dry skin
- Dull skin
- Uneven skin tone
- Mature skin
It’s a great natural alternative that can be made without the use of harmful chemicals.
For best results, make sure you use this great product long term to see a noticeable improvement in skin hydration and overall skin health.

What To Look For When Buying Natural Oils
The oils needed to make this homemade anti-ageing facial serum are – castor oil, jojoba oil and the essential oils are frankincense and myrrh (the oils i use are linked below).
When buying these oils it’s very important not to buy the cheapest product you can find. In fact, it’s one of the times where i would say the more expensive, the better. This due to the quality of the product you’re buying.
For example, if you can find frankincense 10ml bottle for £5, DO NOT buy it! It’s likely to have been watered down, mixed with something else of simply not great quality. For essential oils, brands such as Doterra and Tisserand are great. Doterra is slightly better, but generally a lot more expensive, so Tisserand is the perfect budget option while still being great quality.
When it comes to the carrier oils such as castor oil and jojoba oil in this recipe, make sure you stick to these rules…
- Buy in glass bottles
- Cold pressed
- 100% pure (highest quality)
- Castor oil is Hexane Free
- Food grade (where possible)
- Sustainably or ethically sourced
- Certified Organic (your serum won’t be organic if you don’t use organic products)
What’s Great About Castor Oil?
Castor oil is one of those oils that should be in your life on the daily! It’s a powerhouse oil that your body and skin will love.
Castor oil is…
- Full of essential fatty acids
- High levels of vitamin e
- A powerful antioxidant
- Protects the skin from damage caused by free radicals
- Slows the aging process (why it’s often used in organic face serums)
- Can get deeper into your skin than any other oil
- Hydrates the skin
- Has anti-inflammatory properties
- Reduces the appearance of wrinkles
Making Homemade Labels
Of course, this isn’t something you need to do, or have to do. However, if you do want to make some cute little labels for your homemade products then i would advise something like the Niimbot. I got mine in the creamy white colour variation but there are a few other colours too. It’s currently on offer at the moment too for £51.99 and that comes with one roll of extra label paper.

It’s so easy to set up with either iPhone or Android and you can make super cute label designs for all kinds of products. Plus you can also use the label maker to create personalised gifts for friends and family.
How To Make Your Own Organic Anti-Aging Serum
This is such a simple recipe, and one you can do in less than 5 minutes. All you need is…
- A brown glass bottle (with or without a dropper – but a dropper makes it easier).
- Castor Oil
- Jojoba Oil (or sweet almond oil for a more budget friendly option)
- Frankincense Essential Oil
- Myrrh Essential Oil
Fill just under half of your bottle with pure Castor oil. Add x10 drops of Frankincense essential oil and x10 drops of Myrrh essential oil. Fill the rest with Jojoba oil. Give the bottle a good shake and leave out of direct sunlight.
Use a dropper full on damp skin after you’ve cleansed your face before bed and leave it on all night. If you don’t wear makeup during the day, you could also use this as a moisturiser throughout the day as well.
NOTE – If you plan to be out in the sun, be extra careful as this could cause your skin to be more sensitive to sunlight than normal.
