Having a bucket list of ideas is a great starting point.
If you’re looking for some inspiration for filling that bucket list, here are some great holiday destinations to consider…

Go On A Road Trip
If you have a car, a GPS navigation device, and some camping gear, then you don’t really need a lot else to start enjoying travel right now. Road trips are fantastic ways to see a lot more of the country you’re in rather than picking one spot. By finding camping campsites, hostels, and cheap B&Bs, you can save a lot of money on the trip, as well. If you find yourself loving the experience, then consider getting a motorhome. That way, you won’t even need to find camping spots or B&Bs, you have everything you need to take your holiday wherever you feel like taking it.
Have A Ski Break
If you want to go fast, then the road trip isn’t the safest way to do it. Rather, the ski break can offer all the thrills you need, often against some of the most gorgeous mountain backdrops that a country has to offer. Whether you stay at a ski resort, a chalet, or in a mountain village, comfort is one of the biggest draws of the ski break. When you’re tuckered out from skiing, snowboarding, and hiking, you can rest beside the fire with a cup of warm tea or enjoy luxury dining in some of the finest ski resorts. If you’ve never been skiing before, then Puy Saint Vincent in France can be an excellent place to learn, with a ski school right in the middle of one of the most scenic areas of by the Ecrins National Park.

Go On A Luxury Cruise
Perhaps the luxury aspect of that caught your attention but you’re not quite as willing to bear the chill up in the mountains. Services like Bolsover Cruise Club make it easy to find cruise ships that can take you to all kinds of destinations. Indeed, cruises are a great way to see more than one item on the bucket list at once as most of them make multiple stops on the way. On the journey, you have fine dining, live entertainment, and the chance to relax with a view of the open sea to keep you busy. When it comes to affordable luxury, then finding the right cruise deal is the way to go.
Go Wild On Safari
One great holiday destination to consider is going on a safari. Think of the experiences you might want to have when planning your bucket list of ideas.
When travelling, the art, architecture, food, and lives of other cultures are a huge draw. We want to see how others live, but we should remember that we don’t just share this planet with a diverse range of people. We also share it with millions of species of wildlife and the chance to watch them up close can be just as, if not more rewarding. The African safari in places like Masai Mara is the most famous wildlife holiday of all. If you’re not keen on hunting, then sites like Responsible Travel are a great resource for finding more eco-friendly safaris and other wildlife holidays. Many safari reservation holidays end up funding the conservation efforts of the locals, as well, so you could be doing some good while you travel.

Go On A Backpacking Adventure
An adventure such as going backpacking isn’t going to be for everyone. There’s no denying that it’s a challenge. It forces you to be independent, using what tools you can to find your own way. It’s physically demanding, and if you’re not in good shape it can be a miserable slog. But otherwise, it is one of the cheapest and the most comprehensive ways to see a country or even multiple countries. There are countries that have some utterly fantastic trails, as well. Peru is famous for them, especially the Inca Trail that takes you through the ruins and natural splendour of the ancient civilisation. If you can make the climb (and it can be precarious) you can even get a jaw-dropping view over Machu Picchu and the Temple of the Sun.
Attend A Festival
If you want to see a people and a culture in full swing, then it’s a good idea to time your trip with one of the biggest festivals of their calendar year. Nothing is quite as magical as seeing people celebrate in the way they know and the way they have been doing it for years. Every country has its own major festivals, such as Cinco de Mayo and Carnival. One of the best countries for a diverse range of festivals that blend modern society with truly ancient traditions, however, is the festivals of Japan. Parades of huge wooden floats like Kishiwada Danjiri Matsuri and river processions like Tenjin Matsuri are wholly unique and often every individual city or town has their own unique festival.

A Beach Break Adventure
There’s a good chance that you’ve already enjoyed the sun, sea, and sand of beach break. Indeed, it might be the kind of holiday you’re sick of. If you’ve never simply taken the opportunity to enjoy golden sands and fine weather, then you are missing out. It’s about a lot more than just catching some rays. The chance to learn how to surf, living it up with the beach parties, exploring the local eco-diversities by snorkelling, the best beach holidays offer a lot more than sunbathing. Even if you think you’re sick of them, look for those that offer a different experience than what you’re used to.
Once you have your bucket list of ideas put together, the only thing to do is start ticking them off one-by-one. The sooner you start planning for travel, the more attainable it becomes. Don’t procrastinate. Figure out where you’re going next.
What does your bucket list of ideas consist of? Have you thought of holiday destinations outside the box, or are you keeping it more low-key?
