Teach Fitness Classes
For those out there who enjoy teaching, why not try teaching fitness classes? To become a teacher of any kind in this industry, you will need qualifications. However, it’s likely you will only need the Level 2 & 3 personal training qualifications unless you want to teach a specific class such as yoga.

There are a few ways you can teach fitness classes – either online via something like zoom or in person. If you teach in person you can opt to teach one-to-one classes, or in more of a group setting. However, it’s likely you won’t be able to do as many classes as you might in an online setting.
Teaching online is a more lucrative way to go as you don’t have to leave the house and you could do back-to-back classes, or pre-record them. However, this way you do lose that in-person connection which some trainers don’t like.
Become A Personal Trainer
If you love working out in a gym and have the necessary passion to help people, you could become a personal trainer. This can be an exciting, as well as a social and well-paid job if you have the determination to make it work.
In order to become a personal trainer, you generally don’t need any form of a university degree to have this type of career. However, as mentioned above, make sure you do get certified through the proper channels. Being qualified is mandatory if you work out of an established gym. It will also give you more knowledge on the subject and will make sure you’re giving your clients the correct advice.

Also, becoming a personal trainer should not be seen as a quick and simple way to make money. Personal training should be so much more than just about the money or being able to work flexible hours. It’s also likely to take you a while to build up a large enough client base to really start earning a proper salary.
If you do want to become a fitness trainer, the best place to start would be working at a gym. This way you have access to people wanting to work out. However, working as a personal trainer at a gym is likely to cost you money upfront. Gyms such as Pure Gym charge personal trainers approx £500 per month to work out of their gyms – so it could take you a while to start earning.

Online Trainer Or Fitness Coach
Similar to that of a personal trainer, another way to make money in fitness is to become an online fitness coach.
Although you don’t need any qualifications to do this job, it’s better to have them than not. Plus, it also means your clients are more likely to trust what you’re telling them in their training sessions. It could even result in you being able to charge extra money per client for their training plans.

Being qualified will also help you when it comes to creating meal plans for your clients – if that’s what you plan to offer in your fitness packages.
Brand Ambassador
If you have an established blog or have a large following on social media, one of the best ways to make money in fitness is to become a brand ambassador.
To make money as a brand ambassador you could either…
- Promote a brand’s fitness products to your audience and gain income through clicks
- Get paid in free products
- Insert affiliate links into your posts
- Earn commission when someone uses your discount code
Start A Fitness Blog
For those who have a talent for writing, this poses another opportunity to turn your passion for fitness into income. Despite what people may think, there are people out there that look forward to reading well-written blog posts. If you have valuable information to share, you could become a fitness blogger, helping your audience with their fitness goals.
To make sure that your blog posts stand out, you’ve got to find a niche that has an audience and is unique. Here are a few tips on creating a successful blog.

Some of the ways you can make money from your blog are paid ads or affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is great as once you have them set up, it’s a passive way of making money. Your content does all the work for you without you having to lift a finger.
Sell Digital Products Online
Another way to make money in the fitness industry is by creating and selling digital products online. If you have a well-established blog, you could start selling products such as an ebook, or a fitness app perhaps.
If you have expertise in a certain area of sports, you could create an ebook on that subject and start selling to your audience. Creating an ebook isn’t as hard as you might think, especially if you already have all the knowledge on the topic in mind.
Write For A Sports Column
If you don’t want the responsibility of starting and managing a blog, you could become a contributor instead. Look for magazines and websites that pay writers a good fee and see if you could write articles or blog posts for them. Along similar lines, you could decide to become a journalist or broadcaster if you enjoy sports.

This one is harder to get into, especially if you don’t have the necessary experience. However, it is possible, you just need to have the passion and determination to make it work. You may also find you need to do some work for free, to begin with before you might start being paid to write.
Launch A Sports Podcast
These days, there are so many podcasts out there, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. This could be because podcasts are like a cross between listening to the radio and having an intimate conversation.
With that being said, starting your own podcast on a topic you’re passionate about could make you a lot of money. This is especially true if you already have a large following online, or via social media.
The good news is that high-quality podcasts are relatively easy to start up and don’t require much capital if any at all – other than the microphones!
