Humans have always been sociable animals, always looking to be around others. However, these days we are seeing that more and more people are affected by loneliness, with almost no social connections. People are burdened mentally and physically with inactivity.
We all have different types of friends. From acquaintances who we connect with at a very basic level, perhaps a brief hello while passing by. Then there are the closer friends, who we meet up with over the weekend in a group situation, or have a chat once in a while. Lastly, there are the absolute best friends, the people you’d give your kidney to if needed. The ones we speak to almost everyday and know our inner most thoughts. However, there are also instances, perhaps when we’re travelling or have located to a new area, when life becomes quite lonely. All of our friends and family are far away, leaving us with no one to meet or connect with in person.
It can be quite intimidating to make new friends but it really is worthwhile doing so. New friends are only new for a while, until you get to know them. After all, friends and family are a huge part of our lives.
