Would you know how to have a healthy mindset?
In the age where obesity is on the rise and people need to work harder and longer hours to get by. Leading and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a key to both your physical health and your mental health. It all starts with knowing how to have a healthy mindset. Not divulging in these crazy fad diets, but instead being able to sustain a healthy lifestyle – for life!

Recent studies have shown that those who eat healthier food and regularly exercise have an exceedingly higher state of mental well being.
Make It A Lifestyle
To be honest, the only, and best way you’ll be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle is to make it a lifestyle. Instead of going on a crazy diet, or exercising for hours everyday, you need to make it something you can do longterm. If what you’re doing now isn’t sustainable for the foreseeable future, it won’t last.
You need to find the right balance for you. If that means having a complete lifestyle change, then do it. But make it something you love and can do forever. Maybe that means only going to the gym 4 times a week. Or eating a 100% clean and healthy meal 3 times a week. Hey, those 3 times are better than doing great for a week, then binging for the next month! You need to find a balance that works.
Regular Exercise
Exercise is so important it’s almost impossible to overstate. Levels of obesity, especially in the western world, have risen exponentially over the last decade. It has become a huge health epidemic and levels of surgery to avoid coronary and heart disease have shot through the roof.

It’s not always this simple, but on the most part, regular exercise can go a long way to ensuring that obesity is avoided. If you want to start light – try walking or cycling instead of getting public transport of going by car. If your commute to work starts becoming a walk or a cycle, that’s a fantastic start.

Reading
There’s a common misconception that a healthy lifestyle is exclusively about one’s physical health. However, a key part of leading a healthy life is about your mental well being. This means exercising your brain as well as your limbs. Reading is an incredibly useful cerebral exercise. In our age of technology and instantaneous information at our fingertips, it has been well documented that our attention spans are shortening.
By reading, you can train your attention span to lengthen, which is an incredibly useful tool. When you find yourself with half an hour to spare, don’t pick up your phone and go on social media. Don’t pick up your laptop and watch another episode of whatever it is you’re watching. Instead, pick up a good book and spend half an hour reading. It may prove invaluable.
You could even take a book with you to the gym and read while you’re doing a bit of cardio. Make the most the time you have available.
Eat A Well Balanced Diet
Eating well is so important when it comes to leading a sustainably healthy lifestyle. Again, this is not just about your physical health, it is a continually proven fact that a healthy and varied diet is crucial to mental and physical well being.
For example, if you’re having bread for lunch most days, or if you’re eating pasta five times per week, it has been clinically proven that your are far more likely to feel lethargic and slow during the day time.
Also, it has been proven that the oils that come with eating fish are incredibly beneficial for the human brain. So, plan your meals, eat well, and you’ll be feeling better in no time at all!
Make Time & Put In The Effort
I’ve heard a lot of people say they just don’t have time to cook ‘proper’ meals, or go to the gym to workout. For 90% of people who say that, it’s complete rubbish! If you have time to mindlessly scroll through social media, or watch trash on TV, you have the time. It’s just about MAKING the time to do so.
People always find the time to do things they want to do, or things that are a priority. You just need to make you, and your health a priority. Give yourself the time you deserve to spend on you – even if it is just 30 minutes to go for a walk, or to the gym.
Where would you start when it comes to knowing how to have a healthy mindset?
