It’s fun to write about subjects close to your heart, such as how to build a brand. However, creating a brand and a blog for your brand also has long-term benefits. Such as using a blog to build your brand. It’s also an excellent way to show off your skills to prospective employers, and earn an income.
Creating A Blog
To build a brand, you need a blog. There is a school of thought that says any blog will do, but strictly speaking, this isn’t true. Some blogging platforms are better than others. If you have programming skills, you could build your own blog or customise an existing template, but for everyone else, WordPress is the best platform for blogging. It does most of the hard work for you and is easy to use.
Choosing A Font
While creating a blog, one of the most important things to do – other than finding your niche, deciding on a name and writing amazing content. Is to decide on what font you might want to use throughout your blog. You want it to be something that stands out, yet is still clear to for your audience to read.
There’s no point in having a beautiful font if no one can read it! Also, it’s good to note that some fonts can’t be read on some devices so do a bit of research if you’re wanting to be a bit different with it. The most popular font is either times new roman or ariel, but that doesn’t mean you have to stick to either of these.
You also don’t want to be spending a fortune on fonts when you can get them free a lot of the time. Simply search something along the lines of – find freebie fonts site, and something should come up.

Create Your Online Persona
Branding is all about creating a recognisable persona. Think of a well-known brand such as Coca-Cola or Nike. What’s the first thing that springs to mind? It will most likely be an iconic ad or logo since both brands are famous for their logos and adverts.
Big brands have several things in common: they are all instantly recognisable and they all maintain brand consistency across all platforms. For example, the Nike logo appears on everything produced by Nike, from products to packaging and web content. You don’t need to see the brand name to know it’s Nike you are dealing with.
You can learn lessons from the big boys when creating a personal brand. Be consistent when designing your blog. Think about a logo, colours, fonts, and page design. The idea is to create a blog that people recognise as yours the moment they click on the page.
Think about the kind of message you want to give the world. Do you want to share serious content or more light-hearted posts? Colours and visual content all play their part. For example, if you are keen to build a brand in a business niche, your blog should reflect a professional image. Photos of cute kittens might be appealing, but they are unlikely to impress future clients.
Posting Awesome Content
Think about what type of content your audience wants to read and write accordingly. Blog content should be informative and original. You need to convince your audience that you are an expert. Great content generates social shares and comments, which in turn leads to greater blog traffic. Try and refresh your blog as often as possible. Google loves fresh content and will crawl blogs that are updated regularly more often.
Mix up text posts with video content, infographics, and interviews with other people in your niche. The more interesting and informative your blog is, the more brand authority you will gain.
Build a blog and then start writing guests posts within your niche. It’s a great way to expand your brand reach and attract new fans to your home blog. Don’t forget to add a backlink to your guest posts and share the post with your social followers.
