With the sun finally beginning to appear, this normally means wedding season is in full swing. Or there’re plenty of brides to be hurrying around. Searching for wedding dresses, or trying to get the last bits and bobs sorted for their big day. With everything crossed that it all falls into place and the sun makes an appearance. Or at least the worst of the rain stays away! One of the last things to think about are the wedding favour ideas. What on earth are you going to give your guests on your big day?
We Got Married!
It’s now just over 5 years since I got married, the best day of my life! In some ways I can’t believe it was that long ago but in other ways it only seems like yesterday. We had around 1 and a half years from getting engaged to getting married so we had plenty of time to get everything just right. I don’t really remember being stressed about it at all. Choosing the wedding dress was the hardest part for me! We were so well prepared in advance that the few weeks before the big day was actually quite relaxing and stress free! I would say, when it comes to planning a wedding, try to do most things as early on as possible. Keep everything in a big folder so you can stay on top of things and really keep track of invoices to pay…etc.
One of the most enjoyable parts of organising the wedding was deciding on the wedding favours we were going to have. I had seen so many beautiful pictures of other people’s wedding favours, I wanted them to include them all!
Struggling For Ideas?
Now you have the perfect wedding dress, the perfect man and the perfect venue. It’s time to start thinking about your wedding favours.
Incase you’re struggling to find unique ideas for favours for your wedding, below are a few ideas and suggestions. This is where you get to be really creative and show case some of your skills. Cakes
One thing most people really like are cakes. So why not make something in miniature and give it as a gift on your wedding day. You could make them in large batches with your bridesmaids and make a fun day of it. Getting messy and relieving some of that wedding stress.
Pic N Mix
Many weddings I’ve been to have some kind of pic n mix or sweet cart. Being a huge lover of sweets and pic n mix, this is one we went for and it went down so well. Leaving a help yourself sign with a few sweetie bags so they can dig in. Great to help those lagging towards the end of the night, myself included!!
Put it in a jar
Gifts in glass jars seem to have been all the rage over the last few years. From the ingredients for making amazing cookies. To homemade skin care concoctions. If you have the time to do it and are good at doing it then something like this would be great to give to your wedding guests, finishing it off with beautiful labels for your gift professionally done.
Thinking outside the box
Apparently, the average person in their 30’s will go to around 2 or 3 weddings every year, so making your wedding stand out from the rest can be hard work and a stress you just don’t need! One way you could make your day more memorable for your guests is by getting them a little gift to take away. Maybe not everyone if you’re having a large wedding but perhaps just the wedding party (bridesmaids, parents, close friends..etc) or a few special guests.
One company I came across recently was the Woodland Gift Company who are a family run business by Charlotte and Dan, creating beautiful gifts – keyring, earrings, necklaces….and so much more! As a thank you for attending their/your special day, you could get everyone who attends the day ceremony a keyring perhaps, or if you’re a guest yourself, maybe you could get something like this adorable keyring for the happy couple.
Get Creative
If you don’t have a sweet tooth or are going for a more natural theme on your big day, why not create beautiful little plant pots for all your guests. You could either pick one flower or plant type and have lots of different colours or go with a different one depending on your individual guests. All you need is a little bit of soil, some jars , a little ribbon or string, a label to put on the front and of course your flower or plant of choice.
There really are so many ways you can get inspired and create something really fun and different for your wedding day. Say thank you to your guests in the best and most fun way you can that screams your personality. So, whether you’re trying to find the perfect wedding favours to match your wedding dress. Or you just need a few ideas, hopefully this has helped you!
