This immune boosting shot is so quick and simple to make, tastes delicious and can be made ahead of time to enjoy when you feel the need of a boost.
If you have a good juicer (well worth the investment), you can make pretty much any homemade juice you like – especially if it’s a cold press juicer. Yes, it’s quite an expensive investment to make, but if you use it often, you’ll get your money back quickly from not having to buy pricey shots in supermarkets.
Which Cold Press Juicer Is The Best?
Personally, we love to use the Nama Juicer. We have had many over the years and none have come close to this one. Of course, you can get ones much cheaper, but you can tell the difference right away.

The great thing about a cold press juicer is how the juice comes out. It’s much smoother and you won’t lose as much of the juice in the pulp. A cold press juicer gently presses the juice out of your ingredients, meaning you get a better yield.
The best way to tell how good a juicer is, is from the pulp it spits out. The drier your pulp, the better your juicer is.
If you can afford to, spend the money now to get a good one (doesn’t have to be a Nama juicer) and you won’t regret it.

- Once well combined, strain your juice through a sieve (twice) to ensure it's as smooth as possible.

Notes

The thought of drinking cayenne pepper or black pepper might not seem at that enticing, however, you can’t really taste them and they are in there for good reason.
How To Make Immune Boosting Shots
NOTE – If you are new to drinking this kind of juice, start off with a smaller amount of ginger, turmeric and cayenne pepper until your taste buds have got used to it.
Start with the turmeric and the ginger and place them into your juicer and turn it on. Not much juice will come out with just the ginger and turmeric but this is fine. (If you have a good juicer, you won’t need to skin the turmeric or ginger).
Then slice your apple in half, and halves again (or whatever size will fit into your juicer) and put them in your juicer. Once the apple has gone through, more juice should now start to come out – along with the turmeric and ginger juices.
Slice up your pineapple and put this into your juicer – lots of juice should now be coming through.
These are the only ingredients that will go through your juicer, the rest you need to add in separately. Half your lemon and squeeze the juice directly into the collected juice from your juicer.
Then add the black pepper, apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper and give it a really good stir.
Once well combined, strain your juice through a sieve (twice) to ensure it is as smooth as possible.
After you have done this, you need to store your juice in the fridge in airtight containers. You could either do this as individual shots (as we have done in 60 ml glass bottles), or you can store it as one large juice and decant it when needed.
It really is that quick and simple to make these homemade immune boosting shots. You could even add or remove some ingredients to suit your taste – any of the orange family work well. Or you could add in a raw carrot for some extra vitamin c.
