Now more than ever, staying fit and healthy is so important. Yes we might be stuck at home but that doesn’t mean we can’t still be active. These days there are so many ways to stay active. Whether you have a large mansion or a one bed studio flat. Getting fit & healthy is so important!
People in the fitness world often say abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym, and yes this is so true! What you put in your body will have a huge effect on how you look and feel, however, being active is still super important. Food fuels your body but being active will not only tone your body, it will also keep you healthy on the inside as well.

Being Active
For example, being active for 30 minutes a day can improve your heart and lung health massively. We aren’t talking about going to the gym for hours on end, or running a marathon either. Just something to get your heart pumping and the blood flowing for 30 minutes a day.
Something to keep you feeling fit & healthy. You could just do laps around your garden. Or an online home workout video. I’ve been loving Joe Wicks videos on YouTube. Or even perhaps some walking/jogging on the spot. You could even buy yourself a skipping rope or a mini trampette and get jumping!

I actually got myself a walking treadmill. It’s one of the ones that’s meant to be used under a desk. You walk while you work. However, I got it because it was small and could be folded away when not in use. It was an absolute life saver when we had that rainy patch in lockdown! It helped me feel more focused. And because I was still able to get active, it really helped get rid of any un-used energy.
Swimming
When we’re able to go out and use gyms and leisure centres, I go swimming. It’s what I miss the most about the outside world at the moment. The feel of the water swooshing past me, the splashing noises that were so relaxing and calming.
The swimming pool was the place I would go to forget about anything that was on my mind. A place to go and be in the moment – just me and the water. I don’t know about you but I often felt like a kid again in the water. Being able to splash about and dive to the bottom of the pool. See how long I could hold my breath for or pretend to be a dolphin playing in the water.

I did think about getting a paddling pool but it just isn’t the same. You can’t swim properly (if at all) and you certainly can’t dive under the water!
Health Benefits Of Swimming
- Gets your heart rate up
- Less impact on your joints
- Builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness
- helps maintain a healthy heart and lungs
- Tones muscles and builds strength
- Provides an all-over body workout
- Great for stress and anxiety
Being Healthy On The Inside
However, it’s not just about being active, it’s also about being healthy on the inside as well. Making sure you’re eating lots of fruits and vegetables and drinking plenty of water. The fruits and vegetables will keep your insides healthy by providing the valuable micro-nutrients our bodies needs. The water not only helps our organs working properly, it also helps to flush out the toxins that can build up.
These toxins can enter our systems via a number of ways. Pollution in the air and small quantities in the foods we consume. Plus, there are also things like the build up of bacteria on everyday items you probably don’t even think about.
For example, did you know the average bath towel contains over 450 times more bacteria than a toilet seat! Without washing your hand towels, bath towels…etc almost daily, this bacteria will find itself getting in to your body and on to your skin. It’s said to be even worse on things like swimming towels due to taking them outside your home, dropping it on the changing room floors…etc.
The Solution
However, there is a solution to this (other than washing towels daily). The Soji anti-microbial towel is 100% natural, safe, and permanent. Silver is woven into the cotton fibres, so the anti-microbial effect will never fade over time. The real silver fibres eliminate 99.9% of microbial life and prevent it from replicating. Towel odours are caused by mould and bacteria, so Soji towels will remain odour-free for life. Silver also renders the towel completely hypoallergenic for those with sensitive skin and sinuses.

Incase you might be interested, Soji is now accepting backers at kickstarter.com – where you can pre-order your very own set of anti-microbial towels.
Summary
So, to sum up how you can stay fit and healthy at home. Make sure you’re eating nutritious meals, drinking plenty of water, staying active and being more mindful of the pollutants around you in your everyday life.
I don’t know about you but I’ve already decided a home gym is much better than going to a gym. You don’t have to pay a monthly fee. Or share equipment with other people.
