These days, with the rise of social media, self confidence is taking a major hit with many people. Looking your best every day seems to be on the top of everyone’s to do list! For some, it can be hard to look in the mirror each day and not like what you see. However, what you look like on the outside is totally irrelevant. It’s what’s on the inside that counts. However, this is harder said than done when you come face to face with beautiful people filling up your feed.

Now is the time to figure out what actions you can take to boost your inner confidence – forget about your outer shell and focus on what’s inside. You’ll soon have a new zest for life thanks to your inner confidence.
Here you’ll find some helpful hints and tips on how to be more confident from within and how to implement them in to every day life.
Get Rid Of Negative Influences
To be a great self love coach for yourself, you need to make sure to surround yourself with likeminded people who support what you’re trying to achieve. Whether it be to lose weight, to educate yourself more, to try new things or to take up a new hobby, having people around you who will cheer you on and help you could mean the different between success and failure.
A great way to surround yourself with likeminded people is to read books by positive, confident people who have been through it all. One book i have been reading lately is The Ultimate Relationship by Fiona Price. Fiona really has been through it all and in this book she shares her journey through journal entries, blog posts, talks, poems and podcast transcripts. She is endeavouring to be better, do better, live with less effort, in balance, health & joy through practical and spiritual epiphanies.
The book is very easy to navigate via the specific chapters. The snippets of diary entries are great to read as they are just like reading from a diary.
For example – 21st May – “Knackered but compelled to write another entry. This journal is becoming addictive, and i’ve only been at it a short while. Maybe it’s purging, like a confessional.”
If you want to know how to build your confidence, both inside and out, on a personal level through to business and everything in between, this is a must read book.
Get To Know Your Sexual Self
We don’t live in the 1950’s any more. Being able to talk about sex and intimacy openly shouldn’t be seen as a bad or dirty subject.
You may know yourself inside and out when it comes to your personality, your likes and dislikes – food, films, friendships…etc. However, how well do you know yourself on a more personal and intimate level? Do you know your likes and dislikes when it comes to the bedroom?
A great way to do this is with the help of some adult toys. If you’re just starting out, perhaps get yourself a few different things to try, to see what floats your boat. What works for some, won’t work for everyone so get experimenting.
Set Yourself Some Goals
Another important part of being your own self love coach is visualising what you want to achieve and making sure you right it down is going to be the first step. If you’re feeling particularly creative you could go as far as making a mood board with some objectives on it.

This will help to keep you motivated along your journey and remind you on why you started. Make sure they are achievable though, setting yourself unrealistic goals will not help in the long run.

Get Outside Every Day
Fresh air can make all the difference. Making sure you get out of the house, especially during the pandemic, can help you to see things more clearly. It’s very easy to get sucked into very small matter and start to worry when you haven’t had some fresh air in a while.
Making sure to move your body and gets some steps in can help you be the best version of yourself. Of course, if your motivation is to lose weight, there are lots of different methods that can help you to achieve this.
Be Aware Of Your Impact On Others
Most of the time we forget that much of what we do has a major impact on those around us. By keeping this in mind and making sure your impact is as positive as can be, this will feed back to you in good ways.

This could mean that people then smile when you appear, boosting your confidence or they request your presence a lot more, helping you to feel even more loved.
Smile More
Something as simple as smiling more in your day to day life can have a huge impact on your mental health and your confidence. You’ll come off as friendlier and more approachable, and you’ll feel happier on the inside.
This doesn’t mean you have to fake it. If you don’t feel like smiling, that’s fine. However, sometimes a smile can go along way, so try smiling for an entire day and see if you feel better at the end of the day.

If you’re embarrassed about your smile and perhaps your teeth and need some work done then consider visiting an orthodontist. However, try to see the beauty in what you have naturally first. Getting any kind of work done (unless for medical reasons), isn’t advised as a first step. It might make you look better but the root cause hasn’t been addressed.
Exercise Frequently
Exercise is great for so many different things. It can make you feel better about yourself from the inside out. Feeling stronger, fitter and more toned. Watching your confidence grow in the gym as you learn more exercises, or start to lift heavier weights. Not to mention that fact exercise is great for your mental health as well. It gets the blood flowing and the heart racing. It might feel like torture while you’re doing it but afterwards you’ll feel amazing!

Working out is also an excellent way to reduce your stress levels. Find activities you enjoy doing and mix up your routine, so you don’t become bored with it. You’ll be able to shed the unwanted weight you may have been carrying around. You’ll have more energy and will simply be in a better mood when you exercise regularly.
Update Your Wardrobe
OK, so we did say this article was about INNER confidence, not what we look like on the outside. However, sometimes what we look like does play a huge part in how we feel on the inside. For some people, looking great helps to make the feel great. So, if this is you, try focusing on both areas.
Take the time to go through your closet and update your wardrobe and style. Get rid of or donate old items that don’t make you feel amazing, or that don’t fit right.
Replace the items you remove with pieces that show off your figure and make you feel good about yourself. Also, shop around for accessories and pieces you can use to embellish a plain or boring outfit, and that’ll bring out your personality. Don’t be afraid to experiment with bold colours, patterns, or anything that YOU love. Don’t worry about what others are wearing, or what’s trending. Do what YOU love and ignore other people’s styles.
As with anything, practise makes near perfect (no one should strive to be perfect as it’s an un-reachable goal). You may not feel on top of the world every day and that’s okay. More than anything it’s important to be kind to yourself and just keep trying to reach your goals.
As your own self love coach, what tips would you give yourself on how to be more confident?
