So, why is being confident important, and what can you do to change this?
Confident Definition
The definition of being confident is simply – “feeling or showing confidence in oneself, one’s abilities, or qualities.”
How To Find Inner Confidence
Below are a few of the main things you can do to try and boost your inner confidence. However, if you are really struggling, why not hire yourself a confidence coach to get you started, or at least through the hardest parts.
Start with these points and see how you get on. Start with the basics and let us know how you get on with finding your self confidence.
Be Yourself
The most confident people are themselves. They don’t try to hide anything, and are proud of all their successes. But also all of their quirks and what makes them truly unique. They are happy with themselves, in other words. A confident person will wear what makes them feel good. From shoes, to fabulous womens glasses from Mister Spex, for example.
If you can be authentically ‘you,’ take all of your fears and worries, all of the things you aren’t pleased about, all of your neuroses in hand and understand that these things, as well as everything you do like and enjoy, are part of you, you will become more confident. You will no longer be unconsciously apologising for being yourself.

Don’t try to be like anyone else. We all have our own level of confidence – it’s just working out how you find a level of confidence that works and feels comfortable for you.
Be Your Own Person
If there’s something that a confident person wants to do, they’ll make it happen. This is the major difference between those with confidence, and those who lack that confidence. The former will listen, take advice, and continue if they feel it makes sense, whereas the latter will listen and be persuaded against the action. If you can weigh up advice and make your own mind up, your confidence will grow massively.
Enjoy Being Alone
Confident people love to have ‘alone time.’ It may not happen every day, especially if they work in a busy place and then come home to a full household, but it should happen on a relatively regular basis. This time alone enables them to calm their thoughts and focus. Working out what they should do next to achieve their dreams and goals. They might meditate, go for a run or spend some time in the garden. They might simply lie on their beds listening to their favourite music. It makes no difference what they do as long as they have this time to re-evaluate and boost their energy levels.

Don’t Take Things Personally
Of course, it’s almost impossible to take absolutely nothing that is said or done personally, but a confident woman who knows herself and her own mind will be able to brush off most of the comments or actions that would hurt less confident people and continue on her way. This is not an easy thing to accomplish, and it does require complete confidence in your own path and how you are treading it.
Hopefully this has given you some insight in to why being confident is important. Be confident for you, not for anyone else!
