- Dried herbs
- Dried onion flakes
- Panko breadcrumbs
What To Have On Your Bagels
The hardest thing to decide is what to have on your freshly baked vegan bagels. Do you go with a good slathering of salty butter and enjoy them warm on their own? Or perhaps smashed avocado, or vegan cream cheese is more your vibe.
Today we had them with a bit of butter, dunked into our homemade vegetable soup – and it was delicious!
Another great way to enjoy your fresh bagels is to make them into a bagel sandwich and packed them full of leafy greens, topped with slices of beetroot or tomatoes.
Perhaps a wholemeal bagel topped with your favourite jam as a quick and easy sweet treat option when your sweet tooth comes calling.

The Best Flour To Use
For this recipe we used plain flour from KoRo. (BECKY5 for 5% Off site wide).
However, you could use bread flour, a gluten-free flour, or even a wholemeal flour to make them even healthier and more nutritious.
The Ingredients You’ll Need
Probably the shortest list when it comes to homemade bakes, but all you’ll need to make this vegan bagel recipe is…

How To Make The Best Vegan Bagels
Preheat your oven to 170 C.
Lightly oil a baking tray and set aside.
Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl and add in a pinch of salt and the bicarb of soda and combine.
Then add in the yogurt and mix into a dough. You will probably need to use your hands to do the last part. Mix until a dough forms but try not to over mix.
Split your dough into 4-6 individual pieces (depending on how large you want your bagels to be) and roll into balls.
Place the balls on to the baking tray and create a bagel hole in the centre. Dab a little flour into the holes as this will help them keep their shape.
Lightly oil the top of each bagel and add on any toppings.
Place on the bottom shelf in the oven for 22 minutes.
Take out of the oven and leave to cool for at least 10 minutes. This will make them fluffier inside and less doughy in texture.

3 Ingredient Vegan Bagel Recipe
Equipment
- 1 Large Bowl
- 1 Baking Tray
Ingredients
- 250 grams Plain Flour
- 245 grams Plant Based Yogurt
- 1 tsp Bicarb Soda
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 170 C.
- Combine the flour and the bicarb of soda, along with a pinch of salt.
- Add in the yogurt and mix to form a dough (don't over work the dough).
- Cut into same size balls, place on a lightly oiled baking tray and cut out the middle to form your bagel shape.
- Lightly oil the top of your bagels and sprinkle on any toppings you want to use.
- Bake for 22 mins.
- Leave them to cool for at least 10 minutes before eating. This will make them fluffier inside.
How To Store Your Plant Based Bagels
Allow your bagels to cool completely before storing away. This will help them to last longer and they won’t sweat in the container.
The best way to store them is in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. They are better left out of the fridge, but will last longer in the fridge.
If you do keep them in the fridge, having them toasted is generally better, especially if they are also a few days old.
